Developer Robb LaKritz is a managing member of LaKritz Adler Development in Washington, DC. His company handles many of the area's biggest sales and high-profile construction endeavors. Robb LaKritz's accomplishments include building the Moderno, which was the fastest-growing luxury condominium project in the area when it was built in 2009.
The Moderno began as a strictly commercial project designed to enhance the local neighborhood. Borrowing from both European and modern designs, the sleek building replaced a vacant and trash-riddled lot that was once overrun by drug-related activity. After development costs soared beyond $12.5 million, the project was re-structured to add retail and residential space.
A partnership with luxury developer Robertson Development helped bring the much-anticipated residential units to fruition. Like other upscale residences in the DC metro area, the Moderno features the latest home amenities with simple natural finishes such as bamboo and concrete. More than half of the building's 19 residential units sold out immediately, before all of the building's paint had even dried.
